Substation Features

• Shin-Toyosu substation is the first 500kV underground substation in the world.
• It was adopted a circular form building to save construction costs. The building is divided into 3 sector parts and equipment is installed in each part.
• It was adopted state-of-the-art Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS, one-break-point) as 500kV switchgear to improve reliability and save space.
• 500kV power lined are the first long-distance 500kV underground transmission lines in the world (Route length: 40km, XLPE cable).
